Welcome to a broad all-round service position at Maskinklippet, where you will be a key player in the team and a true everyday hero for us all. You will be fixing, selling, answering questions, keeping things organized, and ensuring that both customers and colleagues have the best experience. More than 95% of our business is currently e-commerce, but in this role, you will also meet customers physically in our showroom/store and in the workshop in Mörrum. Our peak season is when lawns and vegetation grow the most, i.e., from April to July. During this time, we go full throttle and solve things together as a group!
Do you enjoy fixing things, keeping order, and providing great service? We believe you are a true problem solver who likes the idea of combining your technical interest with practical skills. Our current everyday hero is trying something new within the organization and describes their broad role like this:
“It’s a position where you move around a lot and get to be in the thick of things where it’s needed most. You need to have machine knowledge, enjoy tinkering, and be good at handling customers - both positive and negative. Have a normal to high level of computer knowledge and enjoy playing detective when it comes to schematics, troubleshooting, etc.”
We believe you are the type who…
- Is handy, practical, and used to fixing things yourself. Maybe you live on a farm, have done a lot of renovations at home, or just like to tackle things instead of waiting for help.
- Is technically inclined and has an interest in forestry and gardening products.
- Enjoys providing customers with a good experience, whether in-store, workshop, or via email/chat/phone. You don’t think there are any silly questions!
- Is organized and structured – you see what needs to be done before someone asks you to do it.
- Is self-driven but also enjoys teamwork.
- Has positive energy, patience, and a sense of humor – life is more fun when you enjoy your job. You are simply fun to work with, the type who lives in the moment and has fun with colleagues rather than counting down the days to the weekend.
- What does “fin i kanten” mean?!
- Likes to have many projects going on at the same time without getting stressed or careless.
- Speaks and writes very good Swedish and can communicate well in English. All other languages are of course a plus! We currently sell to Norway, Denmark, Germany, and Finland but have many new markets on the way.
- Do you find variation scary? Or have trouble getting things done without clear instructions? To be completely honest - Do not apply for this job!
What the job entails:
- Repair and maintenance in the workshop - you will work with everything from generators and chainsaws to robotic lawn mowers and hand saws.
- Assist with tasks in the store and support, your specialty will be spare parts inquiries.
- Keep the physical workplace organized and tidy.
- Contribute your energy to a team that helps each other and learns from one another.
A typical day might look like this:
You have the opportunity for flexible working hours based on trust, which means you can choose to start between 7-9 in the morning. Today, you choose to kick off the day at 7:30 and start with a cup of coffee while checking emails and creating a priority list for what you want to accomplish during the day. However, you do not get stressed or irritated when you need to interrupt your planned tasks if a colleague needs help with spare parts via chat, while a customer shows up in the store with their chainsaw that needs servicing. You then switch between fixing, looking for spare parts on schematics, talking on the phone, and writing claims.
At lunch, you grab a quick meal to also fit in a ping pong match with a colleague or a moment of relaxation in the massage chair. After your lunch, your store colleague is going on lunch, so you take responsibility for the store during that time. It’s quiet and no customers are present, so you take the opportunity to wipe down the shelves and restock new products to make it look nice for the next wave of customers.
When your colleague returns, it’s time to return to the priority list you wrote in the morning. Troubleshoot Kalle’s chainsaw, order spare parts for Anna’s robotic lawn mower, and assemble the brush cutter you have on the workbench so that the customer can pick it up this afternoon. You jump into the switchboard, cheerfully answer a few calls, and then receive the day’s deliveries before you start wrapping up for the day by checking that everything is in order for tomorrow.
Why Maskinklippet?
With us, you get a perfect mix of sedentary office work and physical activity – with a lot of variety! You get to use both your brain and hands, learn new things, fix things, and meet customers with questions you didn’t even know existed. You will become part of a friendly staff group with 18 colleagues on-site in Mörrum and nearly 150 others at other locations in Sweden - with opportunities for wellness grants, staff activities, flexible hours based on trust, and development opportunities.
When are we recruiting?
The position is full-time and permanent, with flexible start dates. We are not looking for a perfect CV – we are looking for the right person. Someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and be the technical, practical, and friendly all-rounder our customers and colleagues need.
Does that sound like you? Get in touch – we would love to meet you!
We know what we are looking for and therefore kindly but firmly ask for no contact from recruitment agencies.
